La Capannina Beach

Also known as Spiaggia di Ponente and located about 6 kilometres from Tortolì, La Capannina is a spacious and generally relaxed beach. The sea is clear and the seabed slopes gently, making it suitable for families with children. The medium-fine ochre sand is backed by a pine grove that separates the beach from the Tortolì lagoon.

Offshore, the Isolotto d’Ogliastra forms one of the most recognisable views along this stretch of coast.

La Capannina combines a quiet setting with useful seasonal services. Wooden walkways improve access for visitors with reduced mobility, and parking is available close to the beach. Small boats and beach equipment may be available for hire, while a bar-restaurant and camping facilities can be found behind the shore. Tortolì is also only a short drive away, with a wider choice of services and summer events.

From Cagliari, follow the SS125var towards Tortolì. From Olbia, the route approaches Ogliastra via the main inland roads towards Tortolì. Once in Tortolì, follow signs for Arbatax and the industrial port area; local signs lead to the parking areas near the beach. Because road layouts can change, using an updated navigation app is recommended for the final approach.

Nearby beaches include Cala Moresca, known for clear water and a scenic cove, and Porto Frailis, an arched bay close to Arbatax with a sheltered setting. San Gemiliano is another long sandy beach only a short distance away.
