Hiking to Cala dei Gabbiani

This route is for the brave and experienced hikers. The demanding but rewarding trail takes approximately three to four hours and offers the regenerating experience that only a few hours surrounded by nature can provide.
The route begins on the Golgo Plateau and continues through the Ispuligidenie forest. Because of its difficulty, the hike is recommended only for experienced walkers accompanied by qualified local guides who know the route and its obstacles.

The beach is separated from Cala Mariolu by the flat rocky spur of Punta Ispuligi, which slopes gently towards the sea.
Cala dei Gabbiani is a 250-metre-long strip of paradise that can accommodate a maximum of 350 people.
Its name comes from the many seagulls that seek shelter inside the caves of the cove at sunset. Watching them fly over the beach is a particularly beautiful sight for visitors.
You may also spot golden eagles, peregrine falcons and European shags flying above the surrounding cliffs.
What to see near Cala dei Gabbiani
Cala Mariolu cannot be left out. Located very close to Cala dei Gabbiani, it is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Also known as Ispuligidenie, it attracts thousands of visitors every summer.
Cala Goloritzé is also nearby and is famous for its transparent seabed, reflections of light and fairytale scenery. In 1995, it was declared an Italian National Monument.
