Beach · San Vero Milis
Putzu Idu
Putzu Idu is a long beach in the northern part of the Sinis Peninsula, within the municipality of San Vero Milis. Pale sand, shallow water, a wetland behind the coast and proximity to Capo Mannu make it one of the best-known seaside bases in the Oristano area.
The beach
The beach forms an arc almost two kilometres long and has very pale sand. In several sections the seabed remains shallow for a considerable distance.
Sa Salina Manna
A wetland behind the coastline attracts birdlife, including flamingos at certain times of year.
Wind and water sports
The Sinis Peninsula is often affected by mistral winds and the area is also popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers. Sea conditions should be considered carefully, especially when travelling with children.
Capo Mannu and Mal di Ventre
Putzu Idu is close to Capo Mannu, and boat trips to Mal di Ventre island may depart from the area when sea conditions allow.
In the Trip Planner
Putzu Idu is a strong beach stop to combine with just one of S’Arena Scoada, Sa Mesa Longa or Capo Mannu rather than creating a sequence of very similar coastal stops.
