Mal di Ventre Island
Mal di Ventre, also known as Malu Entu, is an uninhabited island off the Sinis Peninsula in the territory of Cabras. Rocky shores, small beaches and open sea create a protected, isolated environment that is among the wildest landscapes on Sardinia’s west coast.
An uninhabited island
Mal di Ventre has no permanent settlement and retains a very wild character. Wind and sea have always shaped access to the island, reflected in the local name associated with the mistral.
Marine Protected Area
The island lies within the Sinis Peninsula–Mal di Ventre Marine Protected Area. Navigation, landing and activities must therefore comply with current conservation rules.
Beaches and rocky coast
The coastline alternates small sandy coves and rocky stretches. The water is often exceptionally clear, but sea conditions can change quickly and may make landing impossible or unsafe.
How to reach the island
Boat excursions leave from ports and landing points around the Sinis when conditions permit. This is a destination that depends on weather and sea conditions, not a guaranteed stop on any given day.
Mal di Ventre and the Sinis
The island combines naturally with Cabras, Tharros, Mari Ermi and Is Arutas. In the Trip Planner it should be treated as the main excursion of the day, with only light stops before or afterwards.
