Cala Sassari
Cala Sassari is a beach in the Golfo Aranci area, known for pale sand and clear shallow water. Its position between Olbia and Golfo Aranci makes it easy to include in a stay in north-eastern Sardinia, especially if you are exploring the nearby coast around Sos Aranzos and Terrata.
The bay
The beach is relatively wide compared with the smaller coves nearby and opens onto broad sea views. Low rocks and Mediterranean vegetation frame the shoreline.
Clear shallow water
On calm days the water is very clear, with colours ranging from green to turquoise. Actual conditions always depend on wind and sea state.
Services and access
Seasonal services and parking are available nearby during the summer months. The beach can become busy, so arriving in the morning is often the best option in high season.
Sos Aranzos and Golfo Aranci
Cala Sassari is close to both Sos Aranzos and the town of Golfo Aranci. For a more relaxed itinerary, treat the nearby beaches as alternatives rather than trying to visit several of them as compulsory stops in one day.
Capo Figari
A day at Cala Sassari can be combined with time in Golfo Aranci or a light excursion in the Capo Figari area, while still leaving enough time to enjoy the beach.
