Town

Golfo Aranci

Golfo Aranci is a seaside town in Gallura overlooking a coastline rich in beaches and headlands. Facing Tavolara and Capo Figari, it combines life by the sea, panoramic trails and a strategic location close to Olbia and the Costa Smeralda.

The town and seafront

The centre of Golfo Aranci retains a strong connection with its port and fishing traditions. The seafront, small urban beaches and restaurants make it easy to enjoy the coast without travelling far, while the location provides convenient access to other parts of Gallura.

Cala Moresca

Cala Moresca is a small bay at the foot of Capo Figari, reached along a route closed to motor vehicles. Two small beaches, a pine grove and views towards the islet of Figarolo create one of the area’s most recognisable landscapes.

Capo Figari

The Capo Figari headland dominates the gulf and offers panoramic routes through Mediterranean scrub and past former military structures. The area is also linked to the history of Guglielmo Marconi’s radio experiments. Take extra care on the trails during the hottest part of the year.

Beaches and sea

The municipality includes numerous beaches and coves, from those closest to town to stretches towards the border with Olbia. Clear water and varied seabeds also make the area suitable for snorkelling and diving.

A base on the Gallura coast

Golfo Aranci is a short distance from Olbia, Porto Rotondo and the Costa Smeralda. It can therefore serve as a base for exploring north-east Sardinia while retaining a smaller, more maritime character than some of the region’s best-known resorts.

How to plan your visit

Golfo Aranci works well as either a day trip or a base for several days in north-east Sardinia. Cala Moresca and Capo Figari require suitable footwear and care in hot weather, while many nearby beaches are easy to reach. Proximity to Olbia also simplifies arrivals, departures and onward travel around Gallura.
