Porto Sa Ruxi
Porto Sa Ruxi is a beach in the municipality of Villasimius made up of three small sandy bays separated by rocks. Junipers, Mediterranean scrub and clear water create a sheltered setting along the western side of the Capo Carbonara Marine Protected Area.
Three small bays
Porto Sa Ruxi is not a single continuous beach: three sandy arcs follow one another between low rocks and vegetation, creating slightly different corners to choose from.
Junipers and Mediterranean scrub
Vegetation reaches very close to the sand and adds to the natural character of the area. Use existing paths and avoid damaging dunes, roots and coastal plants.
The sea
The pale seabed creates vivid colours when the sea is calm. The shape of the three bays can offer different conditions depending on wind direction.
Capo Boi and Villasimius
Porto Sa Ruxi lies along the scenic coastal road before Villasimius. It is a natural stop for travellers arriving from Cagliari and gradually entering the Capo Carbonara area.
In the Trip Planner
It works best as the main beach for half a day or as an alternative to Porto Giunco and other Villasimius beaches, rather than as one more stop to squeeze into an already full itinerary.
