Pittulongu
Pittulongu, also known as La Playa, is one of the most popular beaches near Olbia. Its proximity to the city, sandy shore and views towards Tavolara make it a convenient choice for travellers arriving in or departing from north-eastern Sardinia.
Olbia’s La Playa
Pittulongu is a broad, easily accessible sandy beach. Just a few kilometres from central Olbia, it works particularly well for a relaxed half-day by the sea or for the first or last beach stop of a trip.
Sand and sea
The beach combines free-access areas with seasonal beach services. The seabed is mainly sandy, and views of Tavolara stretch across the bay.
Services
Restaurants, parking and seasonal beach facilities make Pittulongu one of the better-equipped beaches in the Olbia area. During the busiest summer periods, arriving early is advisable.
Olbia
Pittulongu can easily be combined with time in Olbia. The historic centre, the Basilica of San Simplicio and the waterfront make it possible to plan a city-and-beach day without long transfers.
Towards Golfo Aranci
Continuing along the coast, you reach Bados, Sos Aranzos and Cala Sassari. In a realistic itinerary, Pittulongu works best as an alternative to these nearby beaches rather than as an additional compulsory stop on the same day.
