Town
Seui
Seui is one of the main towns of the Barbagia di Seulo, built on the southern slopes of the Gennargentu. Its historic centre, traditions, heritage railway and large Montarbu Forest make it an excellent base for discovering a mountainous and sparsely developed side of Sardinia.
The mountain village
Seui lies at around 800 metres above sea level, with sloping streets, traditional houses and a historic centre best explored at a slow pace.
Montarbu Forest
This extensive forest is one of the territory's main natural assets, with holm-oak woodland, limestone walls, streams and rich wildlife.
The Trenino Verde
The historic railway crosses inland landscapes that are difficult to appreciate from ordinary roads. Tourist services vary by season and timetable, so departures should always be checked before visiting.
Mining heritage and traditions
Seui preserves traces of its mining history as well as museums dedicated to everyday life, traditional activities and the surrounding territory.
Seui in your itinerary
Sadali, Montarbu and the Tacchi d'Ogliastra make it possible to build multi-day inland itineraries. In the Trip Planner, Seui should rank highly when travellers select nature and villages among their interests.
