Perda Liana
Perda Liana is a huge isolated rock tower dominating the landscape between the Gennargentu and the Tacchi d’Ogliastra. Its distinctive silhouette can be seen from far away and has made it one of the best-known natural monuments in inland Sardinia.
The rock tower
The formation rises sharply above the surrounding landscape and reaches roughly 1,290 metres above sea level. Its isolated shape creates an immediately recognisable profile.
Geology
Perda Liana belongs to the geological system of the Tacchi, ancient limestone plateaus shaped by erosion. The tower is a surviving remnant of formations that were once much more extensive.
Hiking trails
Several routes approach the natural monument. Difficulty, length and trail conditions vary depending on the itinerary chosen.
Inland landscapes
From this area, views extend across the Gennargentu, forests and high plateaus. Spring and autumn are particularly suitable seasons for hiking.
In the Trip Planner
Perda Liana is a major nature stop to combine with Gairo, Seui or Montarbu, but it should not be paired with another long hike such as Gorropu on the same day.
