Solanas
Solanas is a large sandy beach in the municipality of Sinnai on Sardinia’s south-eastern coast. With around a kilometre of shoreline, clear water and a small holiday village behind the beach, it is a convenient stop between Cagliari and Villasimius.
A long, sweeping bay
The beach forms a broad sandy arc between green headlands. Its size generally provides more space than the smaller coves found elsewhere along this stretch of coast.
Sea and seabed
The seabed is mainly sandy and, on calm days, the water can appear exceptionally clear and bright. Wind and swell can change conditions quickly, so always assess the sea before swimming.
The village of Solanas
Homes, seasonal services and local businesses sit just behind the beach. This makes Solanas suitable not only for a day trip but also for longer stays and family holidays.
Capo Boi and Villasimius
To the east, the coast continues towards Capo Boi and the beaches of Villasimius. To the west are Geremeas and Mari Pintau, making Solanas a natural stop on a coastal itinerary.
In the Trip Planner
Solanas is an attractive and accessible beach that works especially well as a full beach day while travelling gradually between Cagliari and Villasimius.
