Platamona

Platamona is one of the longest stretches of beach on the Gulf of Asinara and extends between the municipalities of Sassari and Sorso. Sandy shoreline, pine woods and wetlands create a broad coastal environment popular with residents and visitors in north-west Sardinia.

A long coastline

The beach extends for several kilometres and has numerous access points. This makes it possible to choose between serviced areas and quieter sections without leaving the same coastal zone.

Pine forest and wetlands

Pine woods and wetland habitats lie behind the beach and add natural value to the coastline. Use existing paths to protect these fragile environments.

Open sea

Platamona is exposed to winds across the Gulf of Asinara and can experience significant waves. Conditions can change considerably from one day to the next.

Sassari and Sorso

The beach is connected with both Sassari and Sorso. In the Trip Planner it can work as a light beach stop after an urban visit or as a full beach day for travellers staying nearby.

When to choose Platamona

Platamona is especially useful for travellers looking for a large, easily accessible beach. Outside summer, the long shoreline is also well suited to walking.
