Biderosa Oasis: five coves in a protected natural area

On the eastern coast of Sardinia, north of Orosei, the Biderosa Oasis protects a remarkable landscape of forest, wetlands and beaches. The area is managed to limit visitor pressure and preserve one of the most natural stretches of this coastline.

Five beautiful coves

The oasis includes five coves, each with its own character but all sharing pale sand, clear water and a backdrop of Mediterranean vegetation. Junipers, pines and holm oaks add shade and colour to the coastal landscape.

Access and conservation

Vehicle access is controlled during the main season to protect the oasis, with a limited number of entries available each day. Rules and booking periods can change, so check the official information before visiting. The area can also be explored on foot or by bicycle along designated routes.

A rich and varied ecosystem

Beyond the beaches, the Biderosa Oasis is valuable for its biodiversity. Mediterranean woodland and scrub surround the area, while the nearby Sa Curcurica lagoon provides important habitat for resident and migratory birds.

Activities and services

Despite its protected character, the oasis offers selected facilities such as picnic areas and organised access points. Calm days are ideal for swimming and snorkelling, while the shaded woodland makes it possible to alternate beach time with walking.

How to reach the Biderosa Oasis

The Biderosa Oasis is about 13 kilometres north of Orosei, with access from the SS125 and a final local road towards the entrance. Vehicle numbers are restricted during the main season, so booking and planning ahead are strongly recommended.

Why visit

Visit Biderosa for a day immersed in one of Sardinia’s most carefully protected coastal landscapes, where pale sand, clear sea, pine forest and wetlands come together. It is especially suited to travellers seeking nature, quiet and outdoor activities.
