La Cinta
La Cinta is the signature beach of San Teodoro: a long arc of pale sand separating the sea from the lagoon, with views towards Tavolara. Its proximity to town and broad shoreline make it one of the most popular beaches in north-eastern Sardinia.
What the beach is like
La Cinta stretches for several kilometres, with pale sand and generally shallow water near the main access area. Its long, regular shoreline makes it possible to walk away from the busiest entrances, although visitor numbers can still be very high in July and August.
Lagoon and nature
The San Teodoro lagoon lies behind the beach and is an important wetland habitat. Flamingos and other bird species are often present, creating a striking contrast between lagoon and sea. Dunes and coastal vegetation should only be crossed using authorised paths.
Views of Tavolara
Looking north-east, the profile of Tavolara dominates the horizon. It is one of the features that makes La Cinta instantly recognisable and visually links San Teodoro with the Tavolara–Punta Coda Cavallo Marine Protected Area.
How to plan your day
Because La Cinta is close to San Teodoro, it is easy to include in any stay in the area. In high season, check current parking, services and access rules and arrive early. Outside summer, the long shoreline is also ideal for walking.
What to see nearby
San Teodoro also offers easy access to Cala Brandinchi, Lu Impostu and Tavolara. For the Trip Planner, La Cinta should be a main stop paired with the town or just one other nearby destination rather than part of a rushed beach-hopping day.
