Cala Brandinchi: San Teodoro’s “Little Tahiti”

Cala Brandinchi, in north-eastern Sardinia, is one of the best-known beaches near San Teodoro. Often nicknamed “Little Tahiti”, it is famous for fine pale sand, shallow turquoise water and views towards the Tavolara area.

A postcard-like landscape

Shallow turquoise water

Facing the Tavolara marine protected area, Cala Brandinchi has a narrow strip of very pale sand and clear water ranging from emerald to blue. The shallow seabed creates a lagoon-like effect and is particularly popular with families.

A natural backdrop

Dunes, junipers and Mediterranean vegetation frame the beach, while a pine-covered area behind the shore provides a green backdrop. These habitats are fragile and should only be crossed along designated access routes.

Between history and nature

Local history

The Brandinchi area is also associated with episodes from the history of Giuseppe Garibaldi and with the maritime routes of north-eastern Sardinia.

A protected marine area

Cala Brandinchi lies within the wider Tavolara–Punta Coda Cavallo protected environment, where coastal and marine habitats require careful visitor behaviour.
