Town
Siniscola
Siniscola is the main town of the Baronìe area and its territory stretches from the limestone slopes of Monte Albo to the beaches of Sardinia’s eastern coast, combining nature, sea and local traditions.
Siniscola town centre
The town lies between the slopes of Monte Albo and the plain leading to the sea. Its centre has churches, historic streets and an active local community throughout the year. Siniscola is a useful base for travellers who want full town services while remaining close to both beaches and nature trails.
Monte Albo and the surrounding landscape
Monte Albo dominates the landscape with a long pale limestone ridge, sometimes described as Sardinia’s Dolomites. Trails, gorges, caves and old pastoral routes make the area appealing for hiking and nature observation. It is the mountain side of Siniscola and creates a strong contrast with the coast.
La Caletta, Santa Lucia and Capo Comino
The municipal coastline includes several very different destinations. La Caletta is the main seaside resort, with a harbour and long beach; Santa Lucia retains the atmosphere of a small coastal village, while Capo Comino is known for dunes, pale sand and more open natural scenery.
Berchida and the beaches to the south
Further along the coast lies Berchida, one of the area’s most appreciated beaches, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub and wetlands. It is particularly suited to travellers looking for a beach day in a less developed setting, with broad natural spaces behind the shoreline.
Traditions and local flavours
One of Siniscola’s most distinctive local products is sa pompìa, a citrus fruit used in traditional sweets. Religious festivals, pastoral cuisine and regional produce round out a visit that can easily combine sea, mountains and the culture of the Baronìe.
