Berchida
Berchida is a long beach in the municipality of Siniscola, surrounded by dunes, junipers and wetland habitats. It is one of the most representative beaches on Sardinia’s east coast for travellers looking for a broad shoreline in a lightly developed natural setting.
The beach
Berchida forms a long arc of pale sand facing the open sea. Its length spreads visitors more effectively than a small cove, although areas close to the main access points can still be busy in high season.
Dunes, junipers and wetlands
Behind the beach are dunes, Mediterranean vegetation and wet areas that increase the ecological value of the site. The surrounding landscape is an important part of the visit, not simply a backdrop to the beach.
How to get there and what to expect
The final approach crosses a rural, natural area. Check road conditions, parking and seasonal services before visiting. Bringing water and everything you need for the day is advisable, especially outside peak season.
When to go
June and September are especially good months for Berchida, while spring and autumn are also attractive for walking and photography. Because the beach faces the open sea, wind and swell can quickly change conditions.
Berchida and Siniscola
Berchida can be combined with Siniscola, Capo Comino and Monte Albo. On a multi-day itinerary, it is better to dedicate one day to the coast and another to the inland landscape, making the most of the contrast between sea and limestone mountains.
