Town
Sennori
Sennori stands on the hills of Romangia between Sassari and Sorso, with panoramic views towards the Gulf of Asinara and a surrounding landscape shaped by vineyards, olive groves and craft traditions.
The town and its views
Sennori spreads in an amphitheatre pattern across the hills and opens towards Sardinia's northern coast. Its compact centre maintains a strong connection with the surrounding countryside, while the location allows quick travel between Sassari, Sorso and the beaches of the Gulf of Asinara.
Wine, olive oil and agriculture
Agriculture is one of the defining elements of the territory. Olive groves and vineyards line the roads around the village and support high-quality local production. Wine and olive oil are an integral part of Sennori's culture and make the area interesting for food-and-wine itineraries.
Crafts and traditional clothing
The village preserves craft traditions visible in weaving and traditional dress. Women's costumes are especially elaborate and are worn during festivals and religious celebrations, reflecting the continuity of a material culture that remains very present.
Churches and festivals
The parish church of San Basilio Magno dominates the upper part of the town. Other historic and rural churches are found throughout the territory. Patronal celebrations and costume parades are good opportunities to experience the community side of Sennori.
Prehistory around Sennori
The Sennori area preserves Domus de Janas and other prehistoric funerary complexes. Together with Romangia's agricultural landscapes, these sites make it possible to build an itinerary combining archaeology, rural culture and views across north-west Sardinia.
