Town

Santu Lussurgiu

Santu Lussurgiu is a village in the Montiferru area at around 500 metres above sea level, characterised by stone lanes, springs and woodland. Equestrian traditions, local craftsmanship and nearby San Leonardo di Siete Fuentes make it one of the most distinctive inland destinations in the Oristano area.

Historic centre

The village is built on sloping ground and preserves a dense network of streets, arches and dark-stone houses. Exploring on foot reveals its mountain character and close relationship with the Montiferru landscape.

Traditions and craftsmanship

Santu Lussurgiu has long traditions in ironwork, woodwork and leather and maintains a strong equestrian culture. These traditions are especially visible during annual festivals and community events.

San Leonardo di Siete Fuentes

A few kilometres from the village lies San Leonardo, a small settlement surrounded by woodland and natural springs. Its Romanesque church and numerous fountains make it one of the easiest and most rewarding excursions from Santu Lussurgiu.

Montiferru

The volcanic Montiferru massif offers forests, springs and panoramic roads. It is well suited to walking, photography and slow itineraries, particularly in spring and autumn.

In the Trip Planner

Santu Lussurgiu is a strong stop for villages, traditions and nature. It can be combined with Cuglieri or San Leonardo while avoiding distant coastal destinations on the same day.
