Scala di San Giorgio
The Scala di San Giorgio opens within the gorge of the same name and is one of Ogliastra’s most striking natural monuments. Deep fractures cut through the limestone rock, including features with local names such as Sa Brecca and Usala, the latter reaching a depth of around 100 metres.
Views from Scala di San Giorgio
From the highest point of Scala di San Giorgio, at around 900 metres above sea level, wide views open across the Rio Pardu valley and towards the abandoned village of Osini Vecchio. The combination of cliffs, highland scenery and open views makes this a rewarding place for nature lovers and photographers.
