Tepilora Regional Natural Park
Tepilora Regional Natural Park protects a large network of forests, mountains and river habitats between Bitti, Lodè, Posada and Torpè. Monte Tepilora and the Posada River link the inland mountains to the coast, creating one of eastern Sardinia’s most interesting natural corridors.
A park between mountains and river
The regional park covers around 8,000 hectares and brings together very different landscapes, from the forests around Bitti and Lodè to river environments towards Posada and Torpè.
Monte Tepilora
The mountain and surrounding forests are among the most representative landscapes of the inland section. Trails and forest roads allow visitors to explore routes of varying difficulty.
The Posada River
The river creates a natural link towards the plain and the coast. Wetlands and riparian habitats increase the biodiversity of the wider park area.
UNESCO Biosphere Reserve
Since 2017, a wider territory including the park has formed part of the UNESCO Tepilora, Rio Posada and Montalbo Biosphere Reserve. The reserve is larger than the regional park itself and involves several municipalities.
In the Trip Planner
Tepilora should be treated as an area rather than a single point stop. The planner should select a coherent sector based on where the traveller is starting—for example Bitti for inland routes or Posada for the coastal side.
