Spiaggia Grande

Spiaggia Grande is Calasetta’s main beach and one of the longest on the island of Sant’Antioco. Pale sand, dunes, junipers and a wide western horizon make it a natural stop during a stay in the Sulcis area.

The beach

The shoreline extends for more than a kilometre and offers plenty of space even during busier periods.

Dunes and junipers

Small dune systems and Mediterranean vegetation lie behind the beach. Use existing access paths to help protect this fragile landscape.

The sea

The seabed is mainly sandy and slopes gradually in several sections. The coast is still exposed to western winds, so conditions can change quickly.

Calasetta

The town centre is only a few minutes away, making it easy to combine beach time with the harbour and a walk through the Tabarkine town.

The island coastline

La Salina, Sottotorre and Mangiabarche are nearby. In the Trip Planner, Spiaggia Grande should be treated as the main beach of the day rather than automatically added to all the others.
