Porto Taverna

Porto Taverna is a long beach in the municipality of Loiri Porto San Paolo, facing directly towards Tavolara. A coastal lagoon behind the shore and the broad view across the sea give the area a distinctive landscape.

The beach is long, pale and fairly wide in several sections. Tavolara remains visible along much of the shoreline and is the dominant feature of the view.

A wetland lies behind the beach, adding natural interest to the landscape and providing habitat for birdlife at different times of year.

In several areas the seabed stays relatively shallow near the shore, making Porto Taverna popular with families. Conditions should still be checked day by day.

The village of Porto San Paolo is only a short distance away and offers a harbour, services and boat connections towards Tavolara.

Porto Taverna works well as the main beach stop on a day focused on Porto San Paolo and Tavolara, without needing to add several other beaches.
