Lazzaretto

Lazzaretto Beach lies along the Riviera del Corallo between Le Bombarde and Porto Conte. The main sandy beach and the smaller coves nearby are framed by rocks and Mediterranean scrub, creating a more varied coastline than the area’s larger sandy beaches.

The main beach

The main beach is compact and sheltered by low headlands. On calm days the sea takes on very pale colours, while its proximity to Alghero means the area can be busy in summer.

The small coves

Several small inlets appear along the nearby coast. They are attractive to explore but fill up quickly, so it is better not to schedule too many beach stops in the same day.

Snorkelling

Rocky areas and mixed seabeds can provide good snorkelling conditions when the sea is calm. Stay within safe areas and follow any local guidance.

Le Bombarde and Porto Conte

Lazzaretto is naturally linked with Le Bombarde and the wider Porto Conte area. In the Trip Planner it should usually be treated as an alternative, not automatically added to every nearby beach.

Best time to visit

June and September are excellent for combining beach time with nearby sightseeing. In July and August, arriving early helps with parking and crowds.
