Le Bombarde

Le Bombarde is one of the best-known beaches near Alghero and along the Riviera del Corallo. Its crescent of pale sand, pine trees and clear sea makes it a classic stop for travellers staying in north-western Sardinia.

What the beach is like

The beach is long and well defined, with fine sand and a seabed that tends to become deep more quickly than at some other beaches in the area. Rocks at either end and the vegetation behind the shore complete its distinctive scenery.

Services and access

Le Bombarde is a serviced beach with seasonal facilities and parking. It can therefore be very busy in the height of summer. For a quieter visit, arrive early or consider June and September.

Pine forest and nature

A belt of vegetation behind the beach provides shade and separates the shore from the road. The area forms part of the wider Porto Conte landscape and shows the characteristic combination of sea, pine forest and Mediterranean scrub.

Palmavera and Porto Conte

The Nuraghe Palmavera is only a short distance away, as is Porto Conte Bay. This makes it easy to combine archaeology and the sea in the same day without long transfers.

Le Bombarde in an Alghero itinerary

For the Trip Planner, Le Bombarde is a strong stop to combine with Alghero, Palmavera or Capo Caccia. There is no need to pack too many other beaches into the same day.
