Cala Fuili

Cala Fuili is a small cove in the municipality of Dorgali, a few kilometres south of Cala Gonone. It is the last beach reached by following the coastal road and one of the main access points for hiking trails that continue through the coastal Supramonte.

The cove

Cala Fuili is enclosed by limestone cliffs and has a beach of pebbles and pale stones. Its small size makes it especially scenic but also means it can become crowded in summer, particularly around midday.

The descent

From the end of the road, the beach is reached via steps and a short path. Access is relatively direct but still requires care, especially in hot weather or when carrying heavy beach gear. Proper footwear is preferable to simple flip-flops.

Cliffs and climbing

The limestone walls around the cove are also well known among climbers. The vertical landscape makes Cala Fuili very different from Sardinia’s broad sandy beaches and highlights the geology of the Dorgali coastline.

Starting point for hiking trails

Several hiking routes continue from Cala Fuili towards other parts of the coast. These should not be treated as simple walks: terrain, elevation changes and summer temperatures require suitable preparation. For more demanding routes, a local guide is recommended.

Cala Gonone and Dorgali

Cala Fuili combines naturally with Cala Gonone and the attractions around Dorgali. For a balanced day, pair the beach with just one inland stop such as Ispinigoli rather than overloading the itinerary.
