Cala Cartoe

Cala Cartoe is a beach in the municipality of Dorgali, set along a natural stretch of coast north of Cala Gonone. Sand, Mediterranean vegetation and hills behind the shore create a secluded setting with less development than the main resort areas.

The cove

The beach is enclosed by Mediterranean scrub and hills. Its sense of isolation is one of the main reasons to choose Cala Cartoe.

Access

Access roads cross a rural landscape and can take longer than the map distance suggests. Check current road conditions and parking arrangements before setting out.

The sea

The beach faces an open stretch of coastline, so wind and swell should be considered when choosing the day.

Dorgali and Cala Gonone

Cala Cartoe combines naturally with Dorgali, Cala Gonone and Ispinigoli. It is a good alternative for travellers who want to experience a beach that is different from the coves usually reached by boat.

In the Trip Planner

Treat Cala Cartoe as the main beach stop of the day rather than pairing it with demanding routes such as Gorropu or Tiscali.
