Town
Domusnovas
Domusnovas lies on the edge of the Marganai massif and is best known for Grotta di San Giovanni, a large natural tunnel that was crossed by a road for generations. The town is a gateway to forests, limestone walls and inland Iglesiente trails.
The town at the foot of Marganai
Domusnovas lies where the plains meet the hills of the Iglesiente. The town provides useful services before heading into the surrounding natural areas.
Grotta di San Giovanni
A few kilometres from the town opens a karst cave around 850 metres long, crossed by the Rio San Giovanni. The old road running through the cave is one of its most unusual features.
Marganai
Holm-oak woods, hills and trails surround the cave area. Marganai makes it possible to spend a full day in nature without travelling to the coast.
Climbing and outdoor activities
The area's limestone walls are also popular with climbers and hikers. More technical routes require experience and suitable equipment.
