Tamuli Archaeological Park
Tamuli Archaeological Park lies on a plateau a few kilometres from Macomer. A nuraghe, settlement remains, three Giants’ Tombs and six famous anthropomorphic betyls make it one of the Marghine’s richest and most atmospheric archaeological sites.
The Nuragic complex
The site includes a nuraghe and traces of a settlement, evidence of a community active during the Bronze Age.
The Giants’ Tombs
Three funerary monuments lie within the archaeological area. The best-preserved tomb still shows its exedra and burial corridor.
The six betyl stones
The best-known feature is a group of six conical anthropomorphic stones, locally called sas perdas marmuradas, standing close to the funerary area.
The Marghine landscape
The plateau and surrounding pasture add to the atmosphere of the site and help visitors understand the archaeology within its wider landscape.
In the Trip Planner
Tamuli is a strong archaeological stop and can be paired with Macomer or Sant’Andrea Priu, without crowding too many sites into the same day.
