Porto Pino
Porto Pino is one of the best-known coastal landscapes in the Sulcis area. Long beaches, pale dunes, pine woods and wetlands form a natural system in front of the seaside settlement of Sant’Anna Arresi.
The long beach
The coastline is made up of several sandy sections along a low-lying shore. Its size lets visitors choose between areas close to services and more natural stretches.
The dunes
A large system of very pale dunes develops along the southern section. These are fragile habitats and should only be viewed and crossed using authorised access routes.
Pine forest and wetlands
Pine trees and lagoons behind the coast attract many bird species, making Porto Pino interesting beyond the beach itself.
Sea and wind
The beach is exposed to south-westerly winds. Sea conditions should always be assessed, especially on windier days.
Porto Pino in a Sulcis itinerary
Porto Pino is a main stop and deserves at least half a day. It can be combined with Sant’Anna Arresi and Santadi without adding too many other beaches to the same day.
